Legal context
Local legislation and European standards set the requirements applicable to the fire safety of buildings and products incorporated therein.
- Local legislation defines the type, dimensions and fire resistance of fire compartments in a building and establishes the requirements for wall crossings (i.e. type, performance, remote control if applicable)
- The fire resistance of a product is tested and certified according to European standards. To check this information, market players can consult the classification reports and possibly the Declaration of Performance according to the CE marking.
